Setting permission for the port is the safer choice. Deluge torrent is one of my favorite torrent download client and a great alternative for transmission torrent.I especially like its ability to run as a thin client and the feature rich torrent web ui.It has a bittorrent client for windows and linux. I started using it since Lucid Lynx and this post describes how to install Deluge with webui on Ubuntu 10.04 Lucid Lynx. Once they are added, it gets added to the download list. But it doesn't download or append ".added" to the torrent file, so it looks like deluge doesn't have access to create the files. I've tried a couple of things: Tried adding both my windows user and "deluge" user to another group. Then I applied that group to the whole pool, created the i have deluge download the episode to a folder "unsorted", and then move completed to "download/tv", sonarr is communicating with deluge and sending files successfully both have the label "tv". but at the end downloads stay in "unsorted"

I would have assumed that it treated the umask as always being octal but maybe it was treating 22 as decimal due to it not having the leading zero. Through that I installed the packages deluged (server software) and deluge-web (webinterface). That way I can control the server side through the various clients available on different desktops. It works quite well, except for one part: permissions. Whenever I add a torrent it creates the files and folders with drwxr-xr-x permissions. That way deluge downloaded a file to /torrent/finished However, the downloaded file actually has permissions 777 when, due to inheritance, it should be given 775 no? Then couchpotato automatically moves that file to /media/videos And in here, that moved file has permissions 777 and does not inherit the permission of this folder either I'm following a tutorial from here for setting up Deluge on my Raspberry Pi. However, whenever I try to start up a torrent download to my external hard drive connected by USB, Deluge says that permission is denied for the directory. Doesnt work. The problem is in the permissions of the folder. I moved the download directory to my home and it works fine. Now what i want is to change the owner of the old download folder. Edit: I dont know if it is important but the Torrent folder is in a ntfs partition that i share with a Microsoft SO that i use sometimes.

Upon installation, pacman will create a non-privileged deluge user. This user is meant to run the provided daemon, /usr/bin/deluged.
